For what they are these are very nice.  I am a size 10 in Australai - i ordered an XL they fit prefectly I don't even have to take up the length (which I usually do in trousers).  I am a bit worried that like most denim they will shrink a bit in the wash.  If they do I will have to find a friend who is small than me.
Try a pair if you are game - but siz up and then you might be lucky.
